As a father of a large family, I’ve seen the pressures young people face — and to how differently each of them experiences the world. My own ADHD diagnosis later in life also gave me a much deeper understanding of how minds that work differently can struggle to find their footing, especially in those formative years. Those experiences made joining Young Minds Matter particularly close to home.
I have over 25 years’ experience building software and technology platforms, spending my career helping organisations use technology thoughtfully and effectively. I run my own software development company, working with clients across a range of sectors, and I’ve held CTO roles in both commercial and charitable settings. I know how transformative the right technology infrastructure can be for a growing organisation and aim to further the great work YMM has done so far. I hope that, in a small way, I can make a difference to the organisation and the young people YMM works with.
I’m genuinely excited to bring my experience to YMM, supporting the team to use technology in ways that free them to focus on what matters most: the young people they serve. The work YMM does – giving young people tools to understand and manage their mental health – is exactly the kind of early intervention that can change the trajectory of a life.
Time out is important to me. I spend time with my family and partner, I love live music, the great outdoors, cooking and riding my motorcycle!
