Emanuela – Mentor

I am Italian, but I have been living in England for over two decades. As well as being a mom to two children, and a trained mentor for YMM, I am a self-employed qualified translator.

I like to go for long walks with my dog, travel, cook healthy meals, watch movies, read, practise yoga and meditation, listen to all kinds of music, and dance (typically in the kitchen, to the embarrassment of my children).

I came across Young Minds Matter at a time when I was looking for ways to be of service to my local community. YMM’s mission immediately resonated with me, because I deeply care about our younger generations, who are so full of promise but face a lot of new global, societal, and personal challenges. I know that my personality, interests, life experiences, and the on-going training offered by YMM, will stand me in good stead for connecting with my mentees.

To have been recruited as a volunteer mentor by YMM fills me with joy, because I cannot think of a greater privilege than to provide a young person who may be going through a bit of a rough patch with the space and attention that they need to put their challenges in perspective, feel better in themselves and achieve their goals.
