Born and brought up in the Black Country, I have always owned horses riding in competition and working in the racing industry. I brought up two sons on my own who followed me into riding and competing. I was involved in the retraining of racehorses and trained dogs. After eight years of successfully running my own company and employing ten members of staff, I realised I wanted to work in a caring role so I closed the business in June 2021.

My first experience of mental health related suffering was my mother who suffered from debilitating bouts of depression throughout my childhood. After a lifetime of helping others, I have decided to follow my instinct and help people professionally. And now a mature student studying for a Counselling degree at Warwick University.
